Smart Water Application Technologies educational outreach is gaining momentum. The SWAT technology promotion group created educational materials with the help of a great from Hillsborough County, Fla. The materials include Web content, statement stuffers and direct mailers. The materials are being tested by the El Dorado Irrigation District in California.
Two other California water providers ?EUR??,,????'??? East Bay Municipal Water District in San Francisco Bay area and the Municipal Water District of Orange County, Calif. ?EUR??,,????'??? are considering education programs based on the SWAT developed materials.
The program focuses on teaching homeowners about irrigation technology that can help them use less water. Meanwhile, Metropolitan Water District of Southern California has updated its controller rebate program to specify that beginning July 1, 2007, only units tested under the protocol developed by SWAT and posted on the Irrigation Association website will be eligible.
