Provide Environmental, Social and Economical Benefits

According to a newly released infographic, 2,500 square feet of turf releases enough oxygen for a family of four to breathe.

To help promote the value of green space, and subsequently green industry professionals, Project Evergreen has released a new infographic that visually demonstrates the numerous economic, environmental and social benefits provided on a daily basis.

This includes:
Trees shading homes can reduce attic temperatures by as much as 40 degrees.

Turfgrass and a well-designed landscape can increase a home's property value by up to 20 percent.

One tree can remove 26 pounds of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere annually.

Grass plants are 75 percent water by weight.

Project Evergreen's ongoing programs continue to produce positive changes to the planet, and goodwill to the green industry. Their "Healthy Turf. Healthy Kids." initiative revitalizes athletic and recreational facilities. The GreenCare for Troops program provides families of deployed military personnel and wounded and disabled veterans with complimentary lawn care and landscape maintenance services. And to date, the organization's green space restoration and revitalization project has garnered more than $600,000 in in-kind donations from industry contractors, suppliers, distributors and corporate contributors.
