Dear George,
I am the Artist that contacted you several years ago, regarding a “vision” God had given me to build beautiful, Christ-honoring Sculpture Prayer Gardens across the USA and world. You put a story “online” about the non-profit project, on your magazine’s website. I sincerely appreciated your kindness.
I wanted to let you know that we are still building the first Garden! It is on Interstate 10, in the center of the country, exactly halfway between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, at the same latitude as Israel!
However, this project of The Coming King Foundation is taking longer than I had hoped, going on six years now, since a preacher/prophet first called me out of a church congregation, and said God wanted me to rebuild the Tabernacle (Amos 9:11-12 & Isaiah 2:2-3).
In the years since, we have been building the Garden entirely on faith, without debt, public tax money, or professional fund raisers. My wife and I have donated my sculptures, my architecture design time and hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash. We are giving, not taking.
The owners of the foundry are also creating the sculptures at their cost. And, the 23 acres of land, worth millions was donated by a Christian business man. We are praying that God will send the money so we can finish the Garden this year. We hope to raise the massive 77’7” cross this summer, Lord willing.
We still need funds to pave the roads and parking lots in concrete, since 1,000 people per day are expected to visit this free Garden. We have already spent close to one million dollars on the Garden and have already placed 3,300 genuine limestone blocks weighing 1.25 tons each! You can see photos of the Garden on my website: www.maxgreinerart.com and on www.thecomingkingfoundation.org website.
Once people can actually see the first Garden, we believe Christians across the country will want to put in their own evangelical Gardens at their churches, colleges. and ministries. We are already talking with people about other Gardens in North Carolina, Florida, Houston and Dallas. But, we have to finish the first Garden, so people can catch the “vision”.
I would like to ask you again to consider sharing our project with your readers. Anything you can do to help us raise more funds to finish this Garden would be appreciated. After the first Garden is finished, the other Garden locations will need all kinds of Landscape Architects, contractors and products.
Attached is the “Master Plan” I created to share the Garden concept. I will forward several other drawings later.
By the way, for your information, I have an Environmental Design degree(1974) from the College of Architecture at Texas A&M University, and practiced architecture for two years with the Architects Partnership in Dallas. However, I felt God was leading me to be an “Artist”, so I never took my registration test. So, technically I am an “Artist/Designer” not an “Registered Architect.”
If you have any questions, need more information or photos, please let me know. I will be in town until March 2nd, when I leave for Nashville to share the Garden project at the convention of the National Religious Broadcasters, which reaches millions of people around the world.
Thanks again for any help and prayers you can provide.
In the King’s Service,
Max
