Members of the largest agriculture-related youth organization in America made a recent visit to lawn-mower maker Dixie Chopper in west-central Indiana. Eight representatives of the Indiana Future Farmers of America (FFA) made a Dec. 6 visit to Coatesville, Ind., touring Dixie Chopper facilities, and seeing first-hand how the manufacturing process works.

Dixie Chopper?EUR??,,????'???s Rick Judy gave them a tour and Faith Lenihan photographed the visitors around a new propane mower in the Dixie Chopper photo studio. Dixie Chopper is considered one of the Indiana FFA?EUR??,,????'???s 2005 sponsors, having donated a lawn mower that the organization raffled off at the Indiana State Fair this past summer.

Brian Buchanan, executive director of the Indiana FFA Foundation, accompanied the group. The teenagers are all high school graduates who have taken a year off from school before attending college to live and work at the FFA facility in Trafalgar, Ind.
