Students Seeking Clients!Making Plans!

These projects will require design challenges which may include slope/drainage issues, irrigation, water features, etc. Each set of plans will be created specifically for the client's needs and requirements.

p>The nationally recognized Landscape Design and Contracting program is once again seeking individuals to partner with our Senior Design students. Our capstone class, Intensive Senior Design, pairs students with “clients” who are seeking landscape designs for their residences. There are two opportunities depending on the size and difficulty of your project: 1. During the first half of the semester, our students will concentrate on smaller projects. These are typically projects located on lots that are 10,000 square feet or smaller. Clients can expect plans which include location of plant material, patios, turf areas, etc. Detailed construction plans will not be part of these projects. 2. During the second half of the semester, our students will concentrate on larger/more complex projects, typically larger than 10,000 square feet and up to multiple acreage lots. Extremely challenging smaller projects may also be included in this category. Additionally, detailed construction plans will be created. Both opportunities require multiple meetings between the client and the student to ensure a desired outcome. These plans can be used for clients to install their own landscapes or can be submitted to professional landscape contractors for installation. All projects are professor reviewed and critiqued in class. Expected donations for small projects are $250 and for larger projects are $500. Students may seek travel reimbursement for projects beyond the Fort Collins area. All donations are used to send Landscape Design and Contracting students to a national career fair and competition.
