LASN's Streetscape Issue highlights outdoor environments that encourage community connection through accommodations for pedestrians, vehicles, and other modes of transportation.

Downtown Ennis
To anticipate current and future growth in this town just south of Dallas, city leaders hired MESA Design Group to turn the historic downtown area into a beacon that attracts local activity.

Growing A Streetscape
A unique architectural structure demanded an equally unique streetscape and green roof, which was provided by local firm Superbloom who used native plantings as the base and inspiration for this environmentally conscious hotel.

Chevy Chase Lakes
This mixed-use commercial and luxury residential development in southern Maryland was made complete only by a curbless street and central park designed by Mahan Rykiel Associates that brings residents together.

By reworking nine blocks in downtown Manhattan, MNLA made the neighborhood welcoming for pedestrians and cyclists in addition to streamlining rush-hour traffic.

One mile along a busy roadway in Northern California was renovated by Surfacedesign so locals would be encouraged to inhabit the space and not just quickly pass through it.
