Building a bridge over a sensitive stream is always delicate business. Landscape Architects and engineers working on Mountainview Road, a major arterial that links a newly developed residential area to Highways 401 and 7 in Ontario, Canada, chose to specify a cellular confinement system to keep silty soil from eroding off a new bridge approach embankment. Expected to be completed this fall, this transportation project utilizes the large cell system and mass plantings for additional stabilization.
