125 Million Over Five Years

HARRISBURG, PA

With warmer weather heralding the spring construction season, Gov. Tom Ridge recently kicked off the $125 million multi-year plan under the "Growing Greener" program to revitalize and repair ailing infrastructure in Pennsylvania state parks and forests. The first state park to receive these funds is Parker Dam State Park in Clearfield County. The announcement marks the 10th week of the "100 Days of Growing Greener" program.

"Thanks to "Growing Greener", we are going to make the best state parks in the country even better," said Gov. Ridge. "We owe it to future generations to pass along state parks with good roads and bridges to drive the family camper, and pristine, open trails to take nice, long hikes this summer." The governor said the 'Growing Greener' program was his No. 1 legislative priority.
