On April 17, 2006, Stantec, an Edmonton, Alberta-based company that provides professional design and consulting services in planning, engineering, architecture and surveying, announced acquisition of the Dufresne-Henry firm of North Springfield, Vermont. Dufresne-Henry, founded in 1955, offers a full range of professional services in engineering, planning, environmental science and landscape architecture.

The acquisition adds over 270 employees and 12 office locations to Stantec in New England, New York and Florida, giving Stantec now more than 50 offices in 21 states and approximately 2,300 employees in the U.S.
Tony Franceschini, Stantec president and CEO, specified the acquisition increases Stantec?EUR??,,????'?????<????????????EUR??,,??s services in the environment and transportation markets. Rich Allen, Dufresne-Henry president and CEO, becomes Stantec?EUR??,,????'?????<????????????EUR??,,??s senior v-p, U.S. East.
Stantec, founded in 1954, trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange under STN and on the New York Stock Exchange under SXC.
