Slow Housing Market, No Problem!

Despite the recent slowing of the housing market in New Hampshire, the market for high-end landscaping jobs is thriving according to one local landscaper.

Brian Cressy, president of Green Horizon Landscaping, has experienced one of the busiest summer seasons in the 11-year history of his company.

He reported that that his average customer spends between $50,000 and $75,000, but recently Cressy?EUR??,,????'???s workers designed and constructed a landscape layout in Concord that cost the homeowner $330,000.
Some of these high-end landscaping jobs are intended to upgrade properties that are languishing on the real estate market,?EUR??,,????'?? Cressy said.
?EUR??,,????'??About half a dozen jobs (this summer) have been people wanting to spruce up their houses for curbside appeal,?EUR??,,????'?? added Cressy. ?EUR??,,????'??I get a lot of referrals from real estate agents.?EUR??,,????'??

Customers whose properties are not for sale have said they decided to stay in their current homes due to uncertainty in the real estate market. ?EUR??,,????'??People are deciding to stay put where they are and they are making improvements to what they have got,?EUR??,,????'?? he added.

The cost of stonework, including custom patios, driveways, walls and gates is largely what drives the steep price of high-end landscaping. Every square foot of stone wall construction costs $50, and with an average of 300 square feet, one stone wall can have a price tag of $15,000.

There is also money in the maintenance of elaborate landscapes. In many cases, homeowners fail to hire someone to take of their landscape and cannot do it themselves. Which is why many companies, similar to Cressy?EUR??,,????'???s prefer to design, build and maintain their work, by building a relationship with their clients.
