SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Simplot Partners, a nationwide turf and horticulture distribution company, announced that Oxnard-based Turf Solutions became a Simplot Partners location in February.

The Oxnard distribution center is capable of custom blending over 50,000 pounds of seeds per day. The facility is also equipped with a separate blender for specialty grasses such as bentgrass or bermudagrass blends.

Michael Sommer, General Manager and Senior Turf Consultant for Turf Solutions, will work as the seed specialist for the Oxnard location. He began his career as a golf course superintendent with both maintenance and construction experience. He then sold seed and chemicals to golf courses and spent 17 years as a Turf Consultant for Germain's Seeds.
