Signs of Economic Recovery Package

 

The economic recovery legislation signed by President Obama will trigger an infusion of funds that will put this nation on the road to recovery, said American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials executive director John Horsley. It will allow transportation departments across America to make smart investments in thousands of projects, creating hundreds of thousands of family-wage jobs in the struggling construction industry.

At the same time, it will upgrade the highways, bridges, and transit and rail systems that America depends on, according to Horsley. State officials appreciate the strong support the Congress and the Administration have shown for this first step in rebuilding our transportation system.
