Course Description: In years past, animations were reserved for only the highest profile projects with big design budgets. With the development of highly efficient rendering resources in technology today, animations and high???(R)???AE?end graphics are being utilized by firms and projects of all sizes. This session will focus on the different resources available for animation production and how to utilize them in your office. Learning Objectives: • Understand the importance and benefits of using animations to aid in the design and presentation process • Examine the process and workflow of animation development related to fees, project scope, and timeline • Learn what software is available and what features they offer • Gain knowledge of how the software works and which one is right for your project Biography: John Aikin, ASLA is a partner with Aikin Design in Richmond, Indiana. He works with a number of landscape architecture and planning firms around the country to develop animations, 3D models, and graphic standards for 3D rendering. John works with firms to train teams of staff in efficient work-flow and faster production while incorporating the use of new technology in 3D modeling. He is also a partner with Web Canopy Studio, which is a website development and inbound marketing firm specializing in landscape architecture and architecture website design. John holds Bachelor's degree from Purdue University, frequently writes on technology and career paths for Land8, and has spoken at ASLA Annual Meeting in years past.
