The Seattle Art Museum and the Trust for Public Land are responsible for preserving downtown Seattle’s last undeveloped waterfront property, transforming a nine-acre industrial site into green spaces and art.

Weiss/Manfredi Architects of New York was the lead designer. The landscape architecture consultant was Charles Anderson, who was responsible for the tree and plant selection and design development for garden precincts and coordination of final grades for planting material. Meadow landscapes with expanses of grasses and wildflowers meet the bordering sidewalks to achieve a ?EUR??,,????'??fenceless?EUR??,,????'?? park. The ?EUR??,,????'??Valley?EUR??,,????'?? consists of an evergreen forest of tall conifers (fir, cedar and hemlock) and ancient trees once native to Washington, such as the ginkgo and Dawn redwood. The ?EUR??,,????'??Grove?EUR??,,????'?? is a forest of native aspen that defines the park?EUR??,,????'???s transition from city to shore.
