The Santa Fe Botanical Garden has finally found a home for its garden?EUR??,,????'??+11 acres on Museum Hill on Santa Fe’s east side. The prescribed hill area is an arroyo and walking trail.

In March, landscape architect W. Gary Smith, who designed the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Garden in Austin, Texas, began the master planning. The public garden will include a stone amphitheater, native plants, adaptable exotics and trails, some paved. Santa Fe has applied for $250,000 from the state to supplement private funding for the project.

Wildflowers cover part of Museum Hill.

Acceptance of the plan will require public hearings and support of the city council. The project is projected to take up to three years.
