Established in 1985 and still family owned and operated out of Columbia, Missouri, Rost, Inc. operates as the largest firm in Central MO. Specializing in large scale residential and commercial design/build, Rost excels at taking a client's requests and creatively implementing them to any site condition while maximizing their investment. The hands-on approach of Rost's design/build process allows the five+ design team and fellow 80+ employees to capitalize on already exceptional designs during the build process. Rost, Inc.'s decades of field experience allow them to enhance projects even further as they progress whether it be from material selections, layout, or simply resolving site dilemmas as they arise. The artful of eye and appreciation of creativity is carried through from initial concepts to final walkthroughs.

Private Residence, Columbia, Missouri
With less than an acre of site to work with and even less usable space, the primary challenge was incorporating the clients' two requests - a pool, and something "cool." Use of space was maximized and allowed for a contemporary, modern feel, while practically handling grades and layout with natural stone elements. Pool, patios, fireplace, fountains, spa, and a variety of specimen plants achieved the "cool" feel of this
Midwest residence.
Boone Hospital South Campus, Columbia, Missouri
Boone Hospital's 10+ acre satellite campus expansion allowed Rost, Inc. to further their master plan of a practical yet native feel by assisting in design/build services from plant massing, street/parking trees, boulder outcrops, and stormwater treatment. However, the heart of the project was a park dedicated to fallen officer, Molly Bowden. The park features walking paths, a bridge, patio, and small pond with a large natural water feature and falls. The pond and well design also serves as the campus' irrigation source.
Private Residence, Columbia, Missouri
This seven-acre estate required more entertainment space, and Rost, Inc. was selected to make that additional space shine. The center of attention features a 350ft+ flowing waterfall and stream. The head of the stream begins with a still pool and dimensional stone patio that sits at water's edge. Stone paths including large granite slabs allow guests to meander down the stream towards the lake. Multiple patios, firepits, and an abundance of landscape along the way.
Private Residence, Columbia, Missouri
This large residence boasts very modern architectural elements, while being nestled in a natural MO environment of 20 acres and surrounded by an even larger private lake on three sides. A contemporary feel and maximizing lake views were of upmost importance while staying conscious of practical yet big visually effective plants. Black granite boulders, cobble stones, and dimensional paving played a big role in achieving the look. Key specimen plants were used for impact with a less is more approach in rather minimal plantings, letting the fun yet practical hardscape elements shine.
Boone County Courthouse Plaza, Columbia, Missouri
This public space in downtown Columbia serves as the central location for many municipalities being flanked by the courthouse, government offices, the historical columns and private businesses. Rost, Inc. renovated the public space with new walkways and paving, better pedestrian flow, break areas and an amphitheater stage. Veteran memorials where thoughtfully relocated and placed around the historic columns for a more meaningful display and use.
