"Rocket Man," a 1998 play by Steven Dietz, popular among repertory companies, tells of the mid-life crisis of Donny, whose dreams of becoming a landscape architect have not come to fruition. He begins to rethink his life and becomes intrigued by the possibility of accessing a parallel universe to redeem his life, a plan that does not bode well for his marriage.
Donny collects much of his material possessions and places them on the front lawn with the sign, "Here's my life?EUR??,,????'??+make an offer!" a sure presage that life has not quite lived up to his expectations.
?EUR??,,????'??Rocket Man?EUR??,,????'?? is the story of a man ?EUR??,,????'??determined to transcend the boundaries of his life,?EUR??,,????'?? is how Steven Dietz describes it. One suspects Rocket Man would have been better of finishing a landscape architecture program and going to work for a firm, but, hey, that?EUR??,,????'???s just us.
