RLA Receives President's Award John Grissim Recognized for Michigan Planning FARMINGTON HILLS, MI John Grissim, FASLA, President of Grissim/Metz Associates of Farmington Hills, Michigan, has received the prestigious 1998 President's Award from the Michigan Society of Planning Officials in recognition of his achievements as a Landscape Architect, civic volunteer and planner. Grissim was honored with the award at the joint conference of MSPO and the Michigan Chapter of the American Planning Association, which was attended by over 600 planning commissioners, zoning board of appeals members, and planning professionals. "John Grissim is a wonderful individual. For more than 37 years, he has promoted quality land use planning throughout the U.S., Europe, Mexico and Caribbean,?EUR??,,????'?? noted Leslie Kettren, AICP, Oakland County Planning & Economic Development Services Division, and immediate Past President of MSPO, who conferred the award. In Michigan, he has worked his magic in the communities of Farmington Hills, Milford, Grosse Pointe Farms, Monroe and Detroit, to name a few," Kettren continued. The President's Award is established to honor an individual who has "gone beyond the call of duty" to promote quality planning in the state of Michigan.
