Richard A. Sperber Named Co-Ceo, ValleyCrest Landscape Companies

The announcement was made during the firm’s recent corporate meeting and retreat by Burton S. Sperber, ValleyCrest founder and chief executive officer. “I’m proud of Richard, as a son and as a leader,” said Burt Sperber. “He has learned the landscape business from the ground up. He has worked in the field, managed large projects and held various positions in each of the company’s divisions. Today, Richard heads a truly great company, a strong management team and is committed to our customers, our employees and maintaining ValleyCrest’s growth.” ValleyCrest reports that under Richard Sperber’s leadership, the company has grown from doing $450 million in business revenues eight years ago when he was named president to $1 billion today. “Richard has successfully led the company in developing new businesses and put ValleyCrest in the forefront of recruiting, the environment, operational excellence, customer satisfaction and safety. This year, Richard’s commitment to safety was recognized by the National Safety Council who named him ‘A CEO Who Gets Safety,’” added Burt Sperber.

Richard is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, the Young President’s Organization and serves on the board of weSpark, a cancer support center in Los Angeles.
