A report from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) showed that the number of jobs created in residential construction between since May has been greater than the number of jobs lost as a result of the pandemic.

 

The association reported that about an estimated 456,800 residential construction jobs were lost between May and April, but that number was finally surpassed with a total of 472,500 being added during a strong December which saw approximately 22,700 jobs created, an increase of 6,900 from the November figure. This data is in line with what has been observed in the home building industry which had a 5.2% increase in housing starts in December (year-to-year). Overall the housing industry has facilitated much of the economic recovery in the United States.
