The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) launched the $190 million 2024 Renew America's Schools initiative in August, which is aimed at upgrading energy infrastructure in K-12 public schools. Twenty-one schools received $300,000 in phase-one funding with 16 advancing to later phases, accessing up to $15 million each to improve 320 facilities in 25 states and benefiting over 123,000 students and 9,100 teachers. These investments target energy cost reductions, improved air quality, and healthier learning spaces. The initiative also addresses the climate crisis by introducing clean energy technologies and modernized HVAC systems, which reduce pollution and enhance student performance. tinyurl.com/Energy-Econ-24
