Q&A with the Experts - Wallace Perimeter Security

A Conversation with Stephanie Olynick, National Sales Director

Project Description & Focus:
This project was all about balance - combining long-lasting durability with modern, clean design. As a private multi-family housing development, the priority wasn't high security but rather creating beautiful and functional boundaries for residents.
Aesthetics played a major role. The design team wanted a fencing solution that felt intentional and integrated - something that complemented the landscape and layout of the homes. Welded wire fencing in a 2" x 8" mesh, made from strong 4-gauge steel, delivered on that vision.

Security:
Because this was a private, low-risk site, the focus shifted away from security and toward visual appeal and resident comfort.

Safety & Privacy:
Privacy was important - especially in compact backyards - but it couldn't come at the cost of light and openness. The solution was transparent privacy inserts. These offered a comfortable level of separation while maintaining light flow and an open-air feel.

Solution:
Budget was a key consideration. The 4GA wire provided a cost-effective yet sturdy option. Welded wire was selected not only for its clean aesthetic but for its long-term durability. The inserts used are shrink-free and highly UV-resistant, ensuring they stay clean and tight over time.

Product Chosen:
Rampart 284 Welded Wire Fence - Black finish with transparent privacy inserts.

What was the main objective of this project?

To create a durable and modern-looking fence that provided privacy without making the space feel closed off.

Why did the team choose welded wire fencing?

It offered a sleek look, excellent longevity, and required minimal maintenance - all while staying within budget.

How did the design balance privacy and openness?

Transparent inserts provided the privacy residents wanted while still allowing sunlight to filter through.

Were there any challenges with budget or materials?

Yes - but using 4GA wire helped control costs without compromising strength, and the selected inserts are long-lasting and low maintenance.

What stood out about this fencing solution?

It struck the right balance between form and function. Clean lines, dependable materials, and a modern aesthetic - all tailored for residential use.

As seen in LASN magazine, July 2025.
