Why are traditional freestanding shade structures better than integrated designs? Integrated shade systems are typically added on by playground manufacturers. These are usually small and only provide limited coverage, mainly when the sun is directly overhead. They offer minimal protection throughout the day, especially in warmer climates. In contrast, traditional freestanding shade structures can span larger areas, offer broader UV protection and significantly reduce surface temperatures. This reduces the risk of burns and sun exposure for both children and adults. They also help protect expensive playground equipment and surfacing, extending the life and value of your investment. How do shade structures hold up in strong winds?
