Q and A with the Experts - Techniseal

Why choose polymeric sand for your installation and what are its benefits?

Polymeric sand is the best compromise that exists between simply adding straight sand into paver's joints, which have very limited performance, and grouting joints that are very labor intensive, require mixing, and also require extensive cleaning following application.
Polymeric sand is easy to use and install, and it offers several benefits that can easily go unnoticed by contractors or homeowners. It serves multiple purposes, such as maintaining the functional and overall performance of the paver's surface, therefore preserving its aesthetic. By strengthening the interlocking nature of the installation, it prevents pavers from shifting over the long run and protects your investment. Unlike simple jointing sand, the polymer content will prevent material washout in sloped areas and in windy areas due to erosion. It also inhibits weed growth and prevents ant and insect infestations.

How do I properly choose your jointing product?

Start by asking yourself what type of substrates the jointing product will be used for. Whether you are installing concrete pavers, natural stone/flagstone, or porcelain pavers, several options are available to achieve stellar results. If you are installing over concrete pavers, whether for residential, commercial, industrial, or public projects, Techniseal's HP NextGel™ polymeric sand will be an excellent choice, as it performs extremely well in demanding environments such as high-humidity environments (pool surrounds), high-traffic areas, or where it is steep or there is no slope. Then, make your final product selection based on the type of installation or project, whether it is a patio, walkway, crosswalk, street, parking lot, or a more demanding project.

What makes Techniseal's HP NextGel Jointing Sand unique?

'HP' stands for High Performance. Launched in 2015, it uses a revolutionary technology called NextGel™ that radically transforms and improves the properties and behavior of jointing sand, making it the first ever, true "no dust," "no haze," "no waste" jointing sand for a fast, clean, durable, and profitable installation. If there is one jointing product that you need to use as a contractor, it is this one, as it is the the hardscape industry's leading high-duty, polymeric jointing sand.

What new product deserves to be discovered for hardscape or streetscape?

I would say EDGE BOND definitely deserves a try. EDGE BOND™ is a polymer-modified hardscape concrete edging formula that, again, is powered by the innovative NextGel technology. It allows for the fastest and easiest installation on the market. Although plastic edging will be perfectly suitable for residential applications, EDGE BOND?,,? will be sturdier and suitable for not only residential, but also commercial and public projects due to its dispersible reinforcement fibers and high strength. It is ideal for all types of installations but even more so on permeable installations where spikes will not hold firmly. EDGE BOND™ has also passed, with a 100% score, a 300-cycle freeze-thaw testing from an independent lab making it perfect for all climates in North America.

What makes you the top choice for Landscape Architects?
