Purdue University announced that it is funding a faculty position to oversee a new program that will prepare students to rebuild communities affected by large-scale disasters. It is the latest in a series of building construction specializations at Purdue that are the first of their kind in the nation. Students will learn about the many specific challenges workers face responding to large-scale disasters such as the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita and would not have been possible without the ongoing support of industry leaders.
