Overall public construction has gone down the past month, but there are still plenty of projects for contractors to bid. In April, the estimated seasonally adjusted annual rate of public construction spending was $311.4 billion, 0.6 percent below the revised March estimate of $313.2 billion. Educational construction was at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $89.1 billion, 1.8 percent below the revised March estimate of $90.7 billion.

In interpreting changes in the statistics in this release, note that month-to-month changes in seasonally adjusted statistics often show movements which may be irregular. It may take two months to establish an underlying trend for total construction. ?EUR??,,????'??? Courtesy of US Census Bureau
