Members of the CLCA have recently been cited for not adequately protecting their employees from vehicular traffic. Apparently, the California Construction Safety Orders say that employees that are on foot and exposed to vehicles must wear orange, yellow-green or fluorescent warning garments. If it?EUR??,,????'???s raining, their raingear must be orange, yellow-green or fluorescent. During darkness, their garments must be reflective material visible from 1,000 feet. White clothing with reflective material may be worn instead of colored garments as long as they are made of reflective material or have a minimum of one horizontal stripe across the torso. According to Cal/OSHA employers have this obligation even if traffic is infrequent or moving at slow speeds.
