PGMS® Launches New Strategic Plan
The Society unveiled its new vision statement, "Enhancing careers, lives, and the environment through the care, growth, and preservation of the landscape." Coupled with the new mission statement, "Empowering grounds professionals and developing leaders through: Transformative Education; Promotion and Celebration of Excellence; Innovative and Collaborative Partnerships; and Cultivating Community and Peer Engagement." LEAD Cohorts Recognized
The Society's first class of LEAD cohorts were awarded their LEAD pin and certificate in Louisville, a testament to their dedication and commitment to leadership education. Thank you to Jeff McManus, CGM, for developing a one-of-a-kind program that fosters a culture rooted in community, personal growth and
servant leadership.
New Leadership
Roger Conner, CGM®, was elected as the 2024 PGMS® President during the Society's annual conference "Transform" held in Louisville, KY, Oct 17-20, 2023. Michael Gildea, CGM®, will serve as President-Elect.
Society Growth
PGMS® membership grew more than 30% in 2023 and the Society's annual conference "Transform" grew by more than 25%, setting record attendance. PGMS® also chartered the Utah Branch, with Shane Richards of Utah State University serving as the Branch's first President, and Inge Bisconer, CID, CLIA, will serve as president-elect. The Utah Branch joins 10 other PGMS® Branches to provide education and networking at a local level.
