The Plantscape Industry Alliance (PIA) proudly announces the 2007 inductees into the Interiorscape Hall of Fame. The Interiorscape Hall of Fame is dedicated to those individuals who have given unselfishly of their time, effort, and talents in the development of the interiorscape industry. The 2007 Interiorscape Professionals are Don and Carole Horowitz. Carole is president of Plantscape, Inc., Pittsburgh, which she founded 34 years ago. The $6 million company employs 100 people and is perhaps Pittsburgh’s largest landscape contractor. The late Don Horowitz joined Plantscape in 1977. A Charter Certified Landscape Professional, he developed Plantscape University and other training programs that are used throughout the industry today. He was well known in the interiorscape industry for his holiday decorating seminars informing the industry about how to sell, market, design, and operate successful holiday d????(C)cor programs. The 2007 Allied Trade Professional is Tony Godfrey. Throughout his many years in the foliage production industry Tony has demonstrated a remarkable and unwavering commitment to quality, new technology, and sustainable practices; and clearly demonstrates unselfish giving to the horticultural industry. The 2007 Posthumous inductee is Alfred Seth Emsig formerly of bough haus, inc. and City Gardens, Inc. Mr. Emsig was an interiorscape veteran of 35 years. He designed and installed some of the most innovative interior plantings, including New England’s first commercial interior water garden. In addition to commercial clients, Mr. Emsig had long-term commitments to the design, health care, and guest services communities. The individuals honored in 2007 will be inducted into the Interiorscape Hall of Fame on the evening of Thursday, September 27, 2007 at the Interiorscape Hall of Fame and PIA Awards Banquet during CalScape Expo. CalScape Expo, the annual Interiorscape conference and tradeshow, will be held this year at the Riviera Hotel Casino, Las Vegas, NV, September 26-28, 2007. CalScape Expo is a production of the Plantscape Industry Alliance as is the Interiorscape Hall of Fame. Hall of Fame nominations are solicited throughout the industry. An independent committee comprised of past Hall of Fame inductees review the nominations and select, by unanimous decision, the candidates to be inducted.
