PHASE I Master Plan Complete for RiverTown

RiverTown is a St. Joe Co. planned community along more than three miles of the St. Johns River. At 310 miles long and three miles across at its widest point, the St. Johns River is the longest river in Florida (and flows north!).

The environmental design firm Ervin Lovett Miller (ELM) has completed the master plan for phase I of RiverTown, including the design, construction documents and landscape planning for the community’s amenity center and Riverfront Park in St. Johns, Fla.

St. Johns is a southern suburb of Jacksonville, 13 miles west of the beaches of Northeast Florida.

RiverTown, a St. Joe Co. planned community along more than three miles of the St. Johns River, has been designed by ELM to be a walkable residential community with hundreds of acres of parks, playing fields and nature trails.

The trail network leads to the St. Johns River and to the planned Riverfront Park. The park will include about 58 acres of nature, canopy trees, passive recreational activities, a community dock, fishing pier, waterfront overlook areas, a central event lawn and a center with a competition pool tennis courts and play fields, plus a community’s social club.

Steve Lovett, partner at ELM, said the design was to create a “true neighborhood that embodied the lifestyle of a tight-knit community, where everyone has easy access to amenities and the river.”
