PGMS Summer Site Visit

Professional Grounds Management Society

Join the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) for their regional seminar and site visit being held in Portland, Oregon on August 13th and 14th at the Crowne Plaza Portland Downtown Convention Center. This interactive program features education seminars on must-know topics as well as behind-the-scenes tours of area grounds management programs.

Education programs include, ''Irrigation Practices and IPM Practice'' led by Gordon Kunkle and John Reed; Dr. Linda Chalker-Scott of Washington State University Puyallup Research and Extension Center who will present ''Horticultural Myths: the Horticultural CSI: why did my landscape plants die?'' as well as others by Kris Codron of Lewis and Clark College; and Bob Kief and Joe Kovolyan of the University of Puget Sound.

Four distinguished places will serve as locations for the site tours, attendees will get exclusive insider tours of the grounds management programs at Hoyt Arboretum, the Portland Japanese Gardens, The International Rose Testing Gardens at Washington Park and Nike Headquarters. These tours will provide attendees the hard-to-find opportunity to gain knowledge, ask questions and see how other professionals in the field are dealing with and managing specific grounds issues.
