A coalition of public interest groups and state attorney generals have petitioned the Environmental Protection Agency to require disclosure for hundreds of inert pesticide ingredients regulated under environmental laws other than Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA).
Inert ingredients serve as dispersants, emulsifiers, surfactants and preservatives, as well as other roles in pesticide formulations. But, while inerts are not intended to control target pests, the public petition points out that, ?EUR??,,????'??516 inert ingredients are currently, or were at one time, registered as active ingredients.?EUR??,,????'??
