People in the News NUVIS, a landscape architectural and planning firm in Costa Mesa, CA, is proud to announce that its founder and current President/CEO, Robert R. Cardoza, FASLA, has been appointed to the Parks, Recreation and Equestrian Commission in San Juan Capistrano; William Leathers has been named Branch Manager for the Orlando office of Valley Crest Landscape, one of the nation's largest landscape and site construction companies. In assuming the leadership of the Orlando branch, Leathers will oversee all projects in the booming Florida area; Frederick Jarvis, FASLA, President and Co-Founder of LDR International, Inc., was recently selected by The Pennsylvania State University, Arts & Architecture/Performing Arts Alumni Board as a recipient of the 1997 Arts & Architecture Alumni Achievement Award, an award given annually to alumni of the college who have distinguished themselves in their profession; and the Associated Landscape Contractors of America (ALCA) announces the induction of Landscape Architect Judson Griggs of Lied's Landscape Design and Development as the 1997 ALCA President.
