Landscape Architect Martin Dahmm, 45, died at his home in Pennsylvania on Dec. 8, 2005.

Martin W. Dahmm, 45, of Springfield, Pa., died unexpectedly at his home on December 8.

Dahmm was known to have an irregular heartbeat, however, tests are being done to determine the exact cause of his death.

For more than 20 years, Dahmm worked as a Landscape Architect with the design firm, Wallace Roberts & Todd at their Philadelphia office. Dahmm?EUR??,,????'???s focus was the planning, design and construction of campuses at independent schools. His most recent projects included the Haverford School, Westtown School, and West Nottingham Academy in Delaware.

?EUR??,,????'??Martin?EUR??,,????'???s death was a palpable blow to the firm,?EUR??,,????'?? said Paul Rookwood, ASLA, AICP ?EUR??,,????'???managing principal of Wallace Roberts & Todd. He had been with us for over twenty years, and had established a reputation as a consummate professional. Clients and colleagues alike trusted and respected him. Excellent work aside, Martin will be missed not so much for what he did but how he did it. In every exchange, Martin always had a positive outlook, always a smile, always some good humor, always a sense of balance.?EUR??,,????'??

Dahmm was a native of Lincoln, Ill., and earned his bachelor?EUR??,,????'???s degree in landscape architecture from the University of Illinois. While attending college, Dahmm met his wife of 13 years, Cynthia Murray. Dahmm and Murray have 12-year-old twin boys, Hayden and Ethan.

In addition to his wife and two sons, Dahmm is survived by his parents, Wallace and Wilma Dahmm; two sisters; and a brother.

?EUR??,,????'??The shock we all felt ?EUR??,,????'??? stems not only from the seeming cruelty of this event, but the raw experience of the loss of a friend. Whether you knew him well, or just a little, Martin without fail made an impression through his fundamental humanity,?EUR??,,????'?? said Rookwood.

Memorial donations may be made to Dahmm Children?EUR??,,????'???s Fund, Citizens Bank, 40 E. Woodland Ave., Springfield, PA, 19064. Attn: Maureen Thomas.
