WASHINGTON, D.C. - Ralph B. Peck, Ph.D. P.E., recently received the Outstanding Lifetime Achievement in Education Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers. The professor emeritus of foundation engineering for the University of Illinois was presented with the honor at the second annual Outstanding Projects and Leaders award gala. "We are fortunate to have educators of Peck's stature," said ASCE President Robert W. Bein, P.E. "He has contributed greatly to the education of geotechnical engineers in this country and abroad through his work at the University, as an author of classic textbooks and as an internationally renowned lecturer."
