Six officers of PBR Hawaii & Associates, a planning and landscape architecture firm based in Honolulu for 40 years, is funding a $40,000 scholarship to support a student studying landscape architecture, environmental design or urban design within the University of Hawaii School of Architecture.

The University of Hawaii Foundation said this is the first endowment created by a landscape architecture firm at the School of Architecture on the Manoa campus.

Funding the scholarship are PBR Hawaii President Thomas Witten, Frank Brandt, founder and chairman emeritus, and principals Russell Chung, R. Stan Duncan, Vincent Shigekuni and Grant Murakami.
