The village of Cridersville Ohio?EUR??,,????'???s Tower Park had four security cameras installed in September to combat those who have been vandalizing the park?EUR??,,????'???s amenities for the last several years.
The four security cameras were installed at a price tag of approximately $2,000 and have the capability to record action during all hours of the day. Myers said the cameras record a continuous feed which comes into the Cridersville Police Department.
The camera installation was the latest attempt village councilors enacted to curtail park damages.
Myers said vandals have had their way with the park, destroying fences, bathroom stall doors, faucets, toilet paper holders, park lights, basketball hoops, picnic tables, trash cans and most recently vandals took porcelain toilet seats and smashed them on the ground.
Councilors originally installed steel doors to protect the park during the nighttime, only to find that the vandalism was occurring during the day. After the destruction of the porcelain seats, Myers said it was time to take serious action.
