In an E-mail received by LASN Tom Papandrew, FASLA and past president of the Society announced his retirement from the Belt Collins and from the profession itself. Following is an excerpt from the e-mail: Dear Friends, Today is my last day at Belt Collins. I am retiring to take a position as General Administrator for the Manoa Punahou Catholic Community. This community is a cluster of two catholic parishes, St. Pius X and Sacred Heart. It also includes the Korean Catholic Community on the Island of Oahu. Sacred Heart is the home to Maryknoll Elementary and High Schools. This career change represents a new challenge and an opportunity to assist with the growth and development of this community. Belt Collins is in good hands. Anne Mapes is our current president and under her leadership, the firm is doing very well and continues to provide the high quality work for its clients for which the firm is noted. The firm is 50 years old this year. I was pleased to be an integral part of Belt Collins for over 33 years. I am thankful for all of the opportunities that my partners, Jim Bell, Ray Cain, Joe Vierra and Paul Hirota afforded me. Jim, Ray and Joe are still active with the firm. Paul retired at the end of 2002. I will continue to be supportive of the growth and success of the firm. I wish them well for another 50 year run. LASN wishes Papandrew the best in his new endeavor. The profession will miss him . . .
