Pa. Township Intends to Adopt Code

The supervisors of the Centre Township, Pa., have directed their solicitor to prepare and advertise an ordinance to adopt the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code.

By opting into the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code, the Centre Township will have the authority to enforce inspections of new construction.

Currently, property owners or their contractors hire third-party agencies to handle inspections. The state Department of Labor & Industry is responsible for all commercial code enforcement.

After the code is adopted, the township will use Kraft Code Services, Shillington, to handle all inspections and to act as the township?EUR??,,????'?????<
