The newest report from Houzz & Home, "Overview of U.S. Renovation in 2018 and 2019," featured good news for landscape professionals as the survey found that half of homeowners doing improvements, included upgrades to their outdoor environments. Flower beds and borders were the clear winner, having been installed at 28% of the respondents' houses. Other favorite outdoor grounds enhancements were lawns (17%), fences (16%) and patios or terraces (15%). In the outdoor systems category, lighting led the pack at 20%, followed by irrigation at 13%. As for outdoor structures, decks (14%) were the most popular addition. Gazebos/pergolas and swimming pools were put in at 5% of the residences each but outdoor kitchens added at only 2% of them.
