As anyone who has dealt with them knows, fire ants are no picnic. Organic Control, Inc. (Orcon Commercial) is unleashing new Fire Ant Control (Steinernema feltiae), an effective alternative to chemicals that control the stinging pests with microscopic organisms called beneficial nematodes that seek out and kill fire ant queens, workers and larvae. Each container is made up of millions of microscopic beneficial nematodes that are so small, several thousand would fit on the head of a pin. The beneficial nematodes hunt down, penetrate and kill the fire ant queens, workers and larvae by traveling through the ground and entering ants' body cavities, where they release bacteria that kill the pests. One container will cover up to seven fire ant mounds. Fire Ant Control all-natural does not affect humans, animals or plants, is completely compatible with other beneficial insects such as ladybugs, lacewings and praying mantids, and will not harm earthworms. The new packaging labels the pests clearly, so customers can easily find the solution to their specific problem. Orcon products are available online and at lawn and garden retailers across the country. For more information, visit www.OrganicControl.com.
