About $5 million in grants for pedestrian and bicycle improvements and $16 million for transportation enhancements will be available in competitive grants from the Oregon Department of Transportation.
Proposed improvements for pedestrians and bicyclists must be within a street right of way to be eligible. Project requirements and applications are available online from ODOT, or for a paper copy, call (503) 986-3765. Complete applications must be postmarked by July 9.
Grants are available for projects that can start in 2011 and are ready for construction in 2013 or 2014. Applications will be available May 18 on ODOT’s local government section Web page, or call (503) 986-3528. A pre-application notice of intent is due June 30.
