The Oregon Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects will host its one-day 2019 Design Symposium, entitled Big Ideas, on April 6 at the Oregon Zoo in Portland. This year's keynote speaker is Montreal-based landscape architect, Claude Cormier. Cormier studied History & Theory of Design at Harvard University and Landscape Architecture at the University of Toronto; he established his firm, Claude Cormier et Associés, Inc., in Montreal in 1995. The symposium will put a spotlight on individuals from landscape architecture, academia and advertising. Those who attend the full day symposium will be eligible for up to six professional development hours. Continental breakfast, lunch, light snacks and a happy hour drink ticket will be provided with registration. Before March 15, registration is $175 for ASLA members and $225 for nonmembers. After March 15, the price goes up to $200 for members and $250 for nonmembers. Student registration is $30. Registration closes April 3.
