Online Seminars for Municipal Arborists

Len Phillips, Arborist is often asked, ''Who am I and why do I do this?'' Although I was educated as a Landscape Architect, I have spent 30 years working in the field of municipal arboriculture. For 20 of those years I served the Society of Municipal Arborists as the editor of their journal, ''City Trees.''

The concept behind this website is to duplicate attending a seminar or conference for all arborists and anyone else interested in learning about tree management, without the expense and hassle of leaving your home and office.  Just like a live conference, the articles provide you with up-to-date information from researchers and leaders in our industry. Vendors, who have products or services of importance to arborists, have been invited to have a link to their websites from the pages of this Seminar. 

Unlike a live conference, Online Seminars change articles every two months.  This means new information all of the time.  At the end of each article you may take a test to earn ISA certification CEU's, if you need them.  You may take every test for a maximum of ten tests per Seminar.  This also means that you can earn as many as 30 CEU's in a single year.

Also unlike a live conference, there is no cost to join the Seminars.  With the high cost of attending conferences at cities around the country, this concept makes a lot of sense for those of us with limited municipal budgets.  Plus you can do it when time permits rather than taking travel time away from home and work.  Many members live in isolated locations and the Seminars have become their only contact with their peers and with up-to-date arboricultural information.
