The Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) released its newest online continuing education course titled, Raised Patio Construction. This course is another in a series of continuing education programs developed by ICPI and offered to concrete paver installers. This course takes a step-by-step approach to the proper construction of a typical raised patio. Although there are many different designs and material choices, the basic design principles are consistent from one project to another. The online presentation focuses on understanding the design principles so that installers can integrate them into their own projects and designs. The Raised Patio Construction course is one of many courses that are part of the ICPI Level II Concrete Paver Installer Certification Program. The advanced certification program is designed to increase the knowledge of individuals who construct and install interlocking concrete pavements. The program requires participants to complete 24 hours of continuing education credits through approved continuing education courses. Each course is assigned continuing education credits based on the number of hours required to complete the session. The Raised Patio Construction course qualifies two credit hours towards the ICPI Level II Concrete Paver Installer Certification Program. ICPI offers resources for the design and installation of interlocking concrete pavements. The Institute also encourages contractors to visit the National Concrete Masonry Association’s website (ncma.org )
