This January, UCLA Extension presents online landscape architecture courses for the first time. ?EUR??,,????'??Landscape Architecture: Advanced Professional Practices?EUR??,,????'?? and ?EUR??,,????'??AutoCAD for Landscape Architects?EUR??,,????'?? provide a convenient way to advance one?EUR??,,????'???s professional education. The first course covers the responsibilities of managing design projects. Instructor Sheila Thomas, a landscape architect, focuses on sequencing and prioritization of each phase and aspect of design, working with different types of clients and design offices, cost effectiveness and profitability, and legal and ethical responsibilities. The course runs January 14 to March 31 and costs $490. ?EUR??,,????'??AutoCAD for Landscape Architect?EUR??,,????'?? leads students through the basic steps of how to create, modify, measure, dimension and print 2-D design elements using AutoCAD. Students become aware of how AutoCAD operates in full-scale and how to create appropriate levels of detail based on ultimate plotting scale. Instruction emphasizes achieving AutoCAD drawings that are accurate, readable and graphically consistent with the desired output scales: large site plans, small area plans, and construction details.
