In April 2014, Guinness World Records certified the Verr????(R)?ckt ("crazy" in German) water slide at Schlitterbahn Waterpark in Kansas City, Kansas as the world's tallest (168 feet, 7 inches). Joy riders (at least 14 years old and 54 inches tall) mount 264 steps to reach the top of Verr????(R)?ckt (pronounced fair rookt), where they are harnessed into three-person rafts. This tallest, steepest, fastest water slide opened July 10, 2014.

Schlitterbahn is a family-owned and operated company (Bob and Billye Henry) based in New Braunfels,
Texas. Their first waterpark was Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort in 1979. The company has four other
waterparks in Texas.
