One Tree, Two Tree, Three Tree?EUR??,,????'??+No More!

?EUR??,,????'??Three?EUR??,,????'?? has a certain symmetry that seems to appeal to many, e.g., the three wise men, the three blind mice, three men in a tub, third time?EUR??,,????'???s the charm, or rule of three.

The ?EUR??,,????'??three?EUR??,,????'?? bug has apparently bitten the zoning commissioners of North Liberty, Iowa, who on June 7, 2005 proposed an ordinance to require developers to plant trees in a triangular formation along the Penn Street corridor.

The idea for trees-in-threes, per the Iowa City Press-Citizen, it is to reflect the town?EUR??,,????'???s logo and to develop a theme. The proposal is for the trees within each triangle to be the same species, with formations about 80 feet apart. Six to 10 tree varieties will likely be selected.

The North Liberty City Council has directed the planning commission to set standards for landscaping, lighting, parking and signage in the corridor.
