Louisville, Ky.?EUR??,,????'?????<???EUR?s historic parks system will get a new name, honoring its renowned designer.
Frederick Law Olmsted and his firm designed the city?EUR??,,????'?????<???EUR?s 18 historic parks a century ago. The parks now are part of the 122-park Louisville Metro Parks system and are supported by the nonprofit Olmsted Parks Conservancy.
Each Olmsted park will get new signage, featuring a new logo and the name, ?EUR??,,????'?????<?Frederick Law Olmsted Parks.?EUR??,,????'?????<?
Olmsted was North America?EUR??,,????'?????<???EUR?s first landscape architect and also designed New York City?EUR??,,????'?????<???EUR?s Central Park, North Carolina?EUR??,,????'?????<???EUR?s Biltmore Estate and the U.S. Capitol grounds.
According to Louisville officials, the parks system has 18 parks and 6 parkways and stands today as one of Olmsted's best-preserved works, reflecting the genius of his vision.
