Olin Partnership Selected for Fountain Square Project

Fountain Square has been called the heart of downtown Cincinnati.

Olin Partnership of Philadelphia will do the landscape design for Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati. Underwriting the revitalization is the Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. (3CDC). Jim Zimmerman, vice chairman of the 3CDC Board and former CEO of the Federated Department Stores, asserted the redevelopment would create a ?EUR??,,????'??world-class cultural and retail district in the heart of downtown.?EUR??,,????'??

Since 1976, Olin Partnership has worked on hundreds most prestigious projects. LASN featured the work of Olin Partnership and others in the November 2003 issue in ?EUR??,,????'??The Getty Center and the Art of Erosion Control.?EUR??,,????'?? Olin received the ?EUR??,,????'??Design of Honor?EUR??,,????'?? in 2003 from the American Society of Landscape Architects for that project.

Cooper, Robertson & Partners (architects, urban designers), Development Design Group Inc., and Williams Jackson Ewing will collaborate with Olin.

3CDC will hold six public meetings on the transformation of Fountain Square, including a review before the Cincinnati City Council's Community Development Committee.

Zimmerman called Olin Partnership the ?EUR??,,????'??right partner for this project,?EUR??,,????'?? because of the firm?EUR??,,????'???s ability to reconcile the character of a place with its contemporary role.
